I need to use my Chase credit card to make a cash advance. I called the customer service number and requested a PIN to be able to do this via ATM in the future. Unfortunately, the PIN will not arrive for 7-10 business days and I need the money ASAP. They said that I can get a cash advance at Chase in person. My question is whether or not I would be able to get the cash advance from another bank, still using the Chase credit card.

Bad CHASE Credit Card service.... I didnt receive my statement for the month of september and me having pregnancy brain didnt realize it until the last minute. I thought I was saved cuz I realized this on the 28th and last months payment was due on the 28th... so I made the payment. Got my new statement today (which is also due on the 28th) and i'm being charged a late fee. I've had this account for years and have always paid on time. I called to see if they can remove the fee since I didnt receive my statement for that month and my previous statement was due on the 28th. I figured i'm a good customer, always paid on time, they'll give me a break... well I was wrong, besides the bad customer service the lady I spoke to said they dont remove fees for any reason. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager she said I cannot because they have more important things to do.... hello... isnt this their job?!

Anyways my question is... is there anything I can do? or any other numbers I can call? I called the number on my statement 1 800 436 7966

Any suggestions would be helpful... thank you!

Hi I am 18 and am starting to work full-time so i figured i would start a checking and savings account. I always though you "picked" a bank account and "applied" for credit cards. So i was looking and settled on Chase bank. I went to join online and it said "apply" for the checking account. Is their a reason it says that instead of join. Other banks I have looked at say join? This is my first time so pardon my stupidity, but do they have to make sure you have a job or U.S. citizen or what? The citizen part isn't a problem but I am using a temp service right now and I switch job to job every few weeks. So why does it say apply. Any answers anyone?
to brother: the chase one i looked at said min. to open.. $25

I recently asked Chase Bank for an APR decrease on my credit card. Originally my credit card had been with Washington Mutual before Chase bought the company. When they did, they doubled and tripled many WM costumers APR rate. The costumer service people were very rude when I called and I was very nice throughout the conversation, hoping maybe at the end they would decide to go ahead and decrease it just a bit. Currently it is 29%. Is there any way to get this decreased? I have one other CC with a small limit that I have paid off but due to the small limit I can't transfer it to that one at this time. I also tried to see if I could open a new credit card and just transfer the balance but a bankruptcy about 6 years ago was the reason given for the denial. Any suggestions from anyone?

My new employer only deals with direct deposit if not your issued a payroll card that works like a debit/credit card, i went to the atm this morning, before then I called to check my account and it says the funds are in there but had no sucess at the atm, clalled chase and they told me to bring the card inside the bank, can I do that even though it's not a chase bank?

The bank is chase and I have a credit card with them. I love their customer services. The bank requires the condo have a Fidelity Bond. The bank agent explained a Fidelity Bond is insurance to protect fraudulent acts or theft of the condo's financial reserves. My dad says that this sounds like a complete hassle.

Should I be concerned that my future condo associate have this or is the bank pulling my leg like my dad thinks?
I have not bought a condo yet. I'm looking for one.

I am currently 19 years old and I have a debit card, and two credit cards from Chase. I also have a checking and a savings account. I've had them for about two years. I was only late paying twice (they were a day late each), and aside from that, I pay everything off immediately.
I realized I don't like chase. I despise their hidden charges on my accounts and their unhelpful costumer service.
I want to close down my bank accounts and credit cards and take my service to another bank. Would this have a bad effect on my credit score?!?! What other options do I have if I really want to leave Chase?

So from online Bank of America, I was suppose to pay off my Bank of America credit card but I accidently clicked on to pay a Merchandise which showed up as Chase Membership Services(I have no clue why this appeared under merchandise). How can I correct this error and receive my money back?

The charge amount is 4850.00

i hired a company to preform a service and i used my credit card along with my fathers (he lent me the money to help me out) to pay for this service. Something happened where some damages occurred on his vessel; a law suit ensued.

long story short, i went to small claims and lost the case. once the judgment was passed, the man who preformed the service went ahead and billed my father's CC for the damages. (my card expired since then) well with in the time period for filing an appeal.

now to make things a little more clear, the contract was in my name and not my fathers; in fact it was under my business name. so the man clearly went out of bounds to charge the CC. since then Chase has removed the charges from my father's CC and it has been cleared from his credit report.

It is clear that this man charged with out authorization.

my question is what can my father do? should he file a report with the police? make a report to the FTC? What can he do?
i want to be as clear as i can with out leading to any confusion.

i run a business, i chartered a vessel in September of 2008 and something happened on the vessel. i got sued and lost and have to pay the amount aforementioned above.

in Feb 2009, the man who owns the vessel, charges my dads CC for the damages.

the judgment is against me not my father.

what steps should my father take; he just spent the last 6 months removing the charge from the dispute. why the man charged his CC is beyond me.

so i have a debit card account with chevy chase, and i recently made a credit card with them. i'm using cardmember services to pay my balance. so i hooked my debit card account to my credit so the money can come out when i make payments. apparently i can't do that because i dont have a checking account - it's the checking account that pays the credit and needs to be connected with.

what's the difference between checking and debit? i'm 18 and i don't have many experiences/knowledge when it comes to banking..

ok its from a chase credit card/bank commercial. in the commercial there showing houses sky view in a big city at night and the houses are blue cause they are useing the bank's service and they have the bank logo on. there.

ok the song goes a little like this "o everywhere were home, were home, were home...ooooo"

probably not so clear but yaa jus tell me if you know.

JP Morgan Chase Bank. i opened both accounts with $100 each in Checking and Savings. Now I would like to know how to aviod a monthly service fee without setting up a direct deposite because i get paid cash. I know i have to maintain a balance of minimum $300 in my savings account also i would like to know if a Chase+1 Student Visa Card is a credit card?

I owe almost 4000 dollars on my credit card for like the past year its only lowered about 200 dollars because of the finance charge i have a 22.24% APR. so they charge about 75 dollars in finance and my minimum payment is 110 so i only get credited for 35 not even half which is ridiculous. the point is, is there anyway i can call costumer service and ask them if they can lower my APR?
I have great credit by the way.
and i have WAMU/CHASE

I'm getting a credit card from my local bank, not for rewards but just as a card to use. I know how to use credit cards and all, and I can pay my bills.
But now, which one should I get? The type of card I'm getting comes with either Visa or Mastercard. I've had both with Bank of America and Chase and Wachovia.
Which is better, Visa or Mastercard? Is there really anyway to compare? I'm not going for rewards, and customer service is dealt with from my bank, but does it make a difference?
Which is more "respected" if you may? Which one and why?

Thanks.

I am set-up for Chase to e-mail me 7 days before a bill is due. I've been a customer for over 15 years without problems. Last month, they didn't notify me and that caused me to pay late when I suddenly realized that I hadn't paid a bill in 5-6 weeks. They assessed a finance charge of $90 (based on a whopping 28% interest rate). They (agent and supervisor) are stubborn and refuse to reverse even part of the charge. I carefully searched my email and spam folder and there is nothing there so I know I am right and not just making excuses.

What can I do to get the finance charge reversed? Having an alert is really bad because it gives you a false sense of security. From now on, I will put it on automatic auto-pay AND mark the calender and check myself.

The only thing I can think of is to write a letter to the CEO since the supervisor is stubborn. However, the CEO will probably ignore the letter and sent to customer service. If I mailed it to the CEO's home, there's a small chance he'd read it.

Suggestions? (I know how to write a complaint letter-make it simple, to the point, and state what I request).
Another thing I could do is to cancel the credit card and use another bank. That's what I probably do in addition to possibly writing a letter.

I am unable to find information. I have a huge issue with my credit card that customer service was unable to resolve as well as a supervisor. They would not give me any information as to how to e-mail or phone the corporate office. They said I must write a letter...like that is going to do anything. The people I spoke with were extremely rude and they obviously do not care about their customers what so ever. They keep continually charging me an overlimit fee when I am no longer over the limit and say that these are from weeks ago when I went a dollar over. They charged me THREE over limit fees of 39.00 in one month for going 1 dollar over the limit. How am I able to reach someone who actually CAN do something for me rather than treating me like I am stupid.
I have talked to 7 people within the last month and I do not get paper statements :(

I have a credit card through chase bank. I will be going out of town in the next couple weeks and I would like to pay for things while there with my credit card instead of carrying cash around with me. [I have the money so I wont be getting myself into debt and I'll pay it off immediately]
I hate calling the customer service because I can never hear/understand them and I don't like the additional fee you recieve for just talking to them. Is there a way I can request an increase online?
I have a limit of 2,000 right now.

I was at Wal-Mart earlier to pay using this new service that you can pay bills such as (energy bill, credit cards, utilities...etc). I didn't know the received code. But, Wal-mart representative call for me and they gave her a received code of 0628 (supposedly for chase card-member services or Chase).

Wal-Mart print me a receipt. Ok, now it showing "BankOne Credit Card". I don't have BankOne Credit card. It's Chase.

So, i went back in Wal-Mart after speaking with Chase to ask have the received my money. They said, "NO" and gave me another received code.

Wal-Mart talk back to chase. Then Wal-Mart talk back to Money Gram. It takes 3 days to 10 days to get my money back. I said no. I want it now. I gave Wal-Mart cash. Wal-Mart must file to get money back. But, they didn't give me money back. MONEY GRAM supposedly "REROUTED" to Chase received code of 4318.

Now, how can i find out on moneygram.com that it Chase received code is 4318? Or will i ever received my money back or will Chase ever get it?

I've had a Chase rewards card since 2005, never missed a payment or been late. I went to pump some gas using my card and found it was shut off, so, like anyone else would do, I called the company to see what was going on. They told me I didn't pay my bill in May. I looked through my records to find that I never got a statement for May, when I brought this to the costumer service rep's attention she said that I had switched it to an online bill statement. I NEVER DID THIS, AGREED TO IT, OR WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS CHANGE! So now, they've turned off my card, cut my spending limit in half, charged me a $300 late fee, doubled my APR, AND tell me there's nothing they can do about it and it's my own fault problem! I admit I did miss the payment deadline, but after four years of having a statement every month, then THEY decide to switch me to online statements without any kind of notice whatsoever, I don't think this is my fault.

Is the CSR being a jerk, or can really nothing be done about this? Should I try to dispute the charge? How can I handle this to, at minimum, get the $300 late fee taken off of my account?

I've been online shopping but it seems that its hard to get my card to work on some sites. Being this I would have to redo credit information. Now, when I look in my account it says I was charged multiple times for a dress although I received one invoice. I called customer service and the guy told me that I was only charged once so I asked him what about the excess charge? He said that it will be released. When is this going to happen? Do I have to speak to a bank teller?
This is all happening on my Chase debit card.

I'm a college student, and will like to build up my credit. I'm pretty smart when it comes to my finances, so please do not say "Do not get a credit card". I've had a bad experience with Chase mastercard customer service and would like some suggestions on other credits cards. I'm looking for a reliable company that won't give me crap.
Thank you!

Is it Comcast, AT&T Mobile Service, DELL, Chase Credit Cards, or ACS
Private College Loan, or the V.A. Tiger Team who investigates claims from veterans of our country's war. Be objective and give an example.

I got a voicemail from fraud prevention from chase bank, they said they need further information from me. I called back, (the number in back of my card) and was automatically sent to customer service (couldn't even check my balance). My account is on hold until I send documentation of a copy of social security card and also a copy of one of my utility bills.

Did anyone ever have this problem before? They said they will suspend my account without sending this documentation. I had ask if I can have documentation of proof of this and denied me.

*I'm a college student and this is my first credit card.

My Providian/Wamu card used to do this, but now it is a Chase card, and they charge for this service... Is there any way to have free, monthly access to it anymore, the way I did with this card?

FIA Card Services was formerly known as MBNA until purchased by Bank of America in 2006. Despite being owned by Bank of America, FIA services cards for Regions, Chase, etc.... I want to go with a card that 100% has nothing to to with the crooks known as FIA.

Has this happen to you? Two banks that I had a credit account with have been bought by CHASE. I previously banked with them, and had previous credit accounts, which I eventually closed due to what I thought was unfair and poor services. When Chase took over, both of my accounts had their account limits lowered as well as APRs increased to an unreasonable level. I have since paid off both accounts, however the finances charges keep occurring and increasing! I've called them several times to no real assistance. They claim there's nothing they can do.

I had a tow truck show up, and i told the operator, that i was waiting on a state funded DOT vehicle which was free, i told the operator of the truck that i wawasn'taying him, but he insisted, and his papartnertarted hooking up the vehicle, as he climbed into my CAR!!! and i stood telling him , get out!, im not paying you, i did everything in my power to stop these people from touching the vehicle, short of knknockinghem off their feet, which i wowouldever do, as this wawasn't life or death situation.
Afterward, he said if i dididn'tay him, they would take my car to their yard, and i wowouldave to pay for it there.

After rerealizingthat he was essentially holding my car as a hostage to demand payment for a service i wawasn'tilling to purchase, i decided that i cocouldlay dirty as well, i gave him my CC with intentions of disputing the claim later.

On top of that, after they left, they took my keys! and i dididn'tet them back ununtiln hour and a half later after the state police vehicle, which was blacking the road from oncoming traffic chased them down for me.

What will happen when i dispute the charge? What is the process, what generally happens for small amount of money less than 100 dollars? Any information wowoulde appreciated
I used yahoos spell checker and it mess up the text sorry for the lack of spaces

So I had a Wamu Credit Card and as some of you may know they have switched to Chase. When they did this I had to switch to an online payment center through Chase and I entered in my checking account information wrong so I had a returned payment. If I wouldn't have had to switch I wouldn't have had to re-enter my checking account information and the returned payment wouldn't have even happened. So I thought I was done with the whole mess, they gave me back the fee they charged, but then they raised my APR from 10% to 30%! I called them today and she said they raised it because of the returned payment and couldn't lower it until a review was done, which is only done 2 or 3 times a year. My question is should I just switch to a different credit card, or through the suggestion of the customer service woman, write a letter to chase to get the matter resolved?
I had enough money in my checking account to cover the payment I had made, and if I wouldn't have been forced to switch to chase then it wouldn't have happened. Once the problem was resolved I made the same payment, so NO I was not being neglectful in my payment, I ALWAYS made my payments on time for the last 2 years AND made more than the minimum payment, so until you know all the information, you shouldn't judge.

I have a Chase Visa and a Chase Master. And I don't want to deal with Chase anymore. I found their customer service to be awful!

So tell me, what credit card companies would you recommend other than Chase, and why?

I signed up for a chase card 2 years ago at a 0% transfer for 1 year and a FIXED 8.9% after that. After making more than double my payment for the past 2 years I get my statement today and it went up to 12.94. So I called and got the "wonderful" customer service people on the phone and asked. And it was due to a "change in terms". I said what the hell I make my payments and then some and my rates go up. What about all the people that don't make their payments and it goes up. I might as well not make payments either. The lady giggles and says I hear that ALLLLL the time.
Yes I understand that it is legal and that it very much sucks, guess I am venting more than anything. I have paid off 6,000 in 2 years and only have 1500 more to go and I will be credit card free.

I have a Chase credit card and they have really pissed me off. I have been good on payments and never been late but they would not lower my APR and they lowered my credit limit. It has been paid off for a long time but I will never use the card again because I don't want to give a company that has horrible cusomer service my money. will it hurt my credit to cancil the card?
The reason my credit limit was lowered was because I had alot of other debt and I acidentally went over limit once. Which was not my fault, it was another company's fault that charged me for something that I had canciled but the Chase would not be forgiving about it.
It is not the oldest one I have it is actually one of the newer ones. i have a lot of credit cards.

I have had it with pathetic customer service, giving banks free loans long after the fed clears the checks, complaining to the government in order to get my bank to comply with Federal law and having my credit card rate jacked up when I have three times more money in the bank than the limit on my credit card.

I have a good job working for a stable company 5 1/2 years. I have considerable savings. My home is paid for. I am tired of being of getting shammed and treated like dirt. Wamu/Chase, Bank of America and City all stink, especially BOA and Wamu/Chase.

I'm looking for a bank that operates with a win/win mentality, rather than a screw the customer at every opportunity mentality. I don;t want to have to spend hours arguing and complaining to the Federal Government in order to get my bank to correct their mistakes or comply with Federal law.

Can anyone recommend a bank that operates in South Florida and treats their customers with fairness and respect?

Recently JP Morgan Chase has taken over Washington Mutual, and I've grown increasingly aware of the many policies they intent to change as they get rid of everything I once liked about Washington Mutual. They're adding in more fees, they are redoing credit cards to carry the Chase name and higher interest rate, and they are becoming a more globalized company. When I asked the teller at my bank to cash out my Rewards Cash Rebate that has accumulated on my credit card, she didn't even know what it was, but she knew all about the new "rewards points" system they are soon switching to. I had to send a message through their website help center to request my rebate instead, and the message I got back was that it may take one to two months (the next billing cycle) for them to send me a check. At the end of this month, all customer's Rewards Cash is going to disappear and be converted into points. Should I be concerned that JP Morgan Chase is trying to pull a fast one on me? Telling customers they have 30 days before Rewards Cash become worthless points doesn't seem very honest to me. (I think I would rather buy TrendWest vacation shares than continue to use a Chase card.)

I'm really thinking about closing all my accounts at Washington Mutual. I really don't want to invest money into a super bank that just wants to take my money away. How can I find an honest bank that is still convenient (later business hours and easy to find in the Pacific Northwest USA)? What is a good place to invest my savings, even if I'm only investing $50-$100 per month? Where can I get a zero interest visa or mastercard with good customer service, and potential rewards? My credit score is excellent and untarnished. I'm 28 years old and single, and looking to set up a good financial future for myself.

Let me know what you think. I want to make good choices for myself, but most people only seem to know about the banks that are the most heavily advertised and commercialized. Should I consider investing my money into something with more tangible value, because the US currency is on the verge of total collapse? What do you recommend?

Besides WAMU (now Chase) because Chase is removing this feature. Chase is actually removing many features. They wont even send me email alerts anymore because that is not a feature of Chase.

CHASE really SUCKS..lol

Anyway, any help would be great! I loved always having immediate access to my FICO score but am having problems finding another credit card that offers this service.

THANK YOU!!

I currently have WAMU who provides this service but they switched to CHASE and are not going to allow this anymore. Are there any other credit cards who give you access?

I have a chase card and I paid it all off. I'm considering using it for gas from now on and just paying the balance off after it post to the account online so I will never have to pay any interest. You get 3% cash back on gas, groceries, Quick Service Restaurants. Although I only plan to use mine for gas. I only have $13 in rewards now if I get another $12 I can get a free gift card from target, home depot, or macy's. I have an item that I would like to buy from Target this summer for my new baby due in July. Do you think it is worth it to get the gift card? Also do you know of any different cards that do better rewards? I saw a woman at TCP and she had all these gift cards and I said wow your family must give lots of gift cards for the holidays she said actually no I got these for free through my credit card. I can't remember what card she told me but she had a stack of gift cards! I mean probably 20+ cards just to that store and she said she had others too. Does anyone know what this card could be? Thanks.

Ok i've owned an amex gold for a year now have never made any bad credit. dont have a bank account. have always paid for most my stuff in cash not credit. im 26 after a year of making tons of payments way before and on time of even the due date of my amex gold and....

i can't get even an email back when i fill out for a chase visa card... anyone know what the deal is? I'm always been self employed lawn service. etc. now im not. but i still can't believe my credit would not be good enough now to get a Chase Visa.

any help?

i had a credit card with JP MORGAN CHASE. eroneous charges were made to my account that i never authorized or recieved any goods. i disputed with JP MORGAN CHASE for 3 months, and even had a lawyer send a letter of dispute by certified mail. JP MORGAN CHASE agred that the charges were not authorized by me. to rememdy the situation, they closed that account number and reopened a new account number. the thing is, i called them back asking why they closed the account number and assigned a new one, i believe they sincerely hoped that the new account number would resolve the dispute. the charges were still carried over to the new account number!! i finaly talked to a FRAUD officer from JP MORGAN CHASE and he uncovered that customer service had closed the account number and assigned a new on but never completed internal paper work regarding the charges, only the fraud investigator is allowed to close and assign a new account number. since by law i'm not required to pay for charges i never made i stopped all payment. 4 yrs later i get a summons to appear in court for suit from a 3rd party collector saying after repeated letters to me i refused payment. i never recieved any letters from the collector. the "original" creditor they list is FIRST USA BANK NA, which is not true, it was JP MORGAN CHASE. can they really sue me for JP MORGAN CHASE mistake? i would think since that customer service was not authorized to change my account number the new account number and charges are invalid.

In December 2007 I signed up for a clothing store charge card, and utlized this charge card to purchase $300.00 worth of clothing from this clothing store. The charge card is from Chase. In January 2008 I received my first billing statement, and the balance in full owed on the account was $374.97 which consisted of the $300.00 charge and the 24.99% interest. The minimum monthly payment is $40.00. I paid $50.00 via check for the month of January 2008. In February 2008 I received the monthly billing statement which had a balance in full of $406.18 which consisted of the balance in full owed on the January billing statement of $374.97 minus my $50.00 check payment sent in for January which equated to $324.97, and then in addition another 24.99% interest charge of $81.21 which equated to balance in full owed for February of $406.18. For the month of February 2008 I sent in a $50.00 payment via check. In March 2008 I received the monthly billing statement which had a balance in full of $445.19 which consisted the February 2008 balance in full of $406.18 minus my $50.00 check payment sent in for February 2008, and then in addition another 24.99% interest charge of $89.01 which equated to a balance in full owed for March 2008 of $445.19. For the month of March 2008 I sent in a $100.00 payment via check. I then reviewed the language of the credit card agreement, and discovered that the interest they were charging, and the methods in which they were billing me were not consistent with the credit card agreement I had originally signed, and the specified terms and conditions of the credit card attached on the rear of each monthly billing statement sent to me. I then contacted their customer assistance group via telephone to find out why I was being billed improperly. The customer service agent explained that I was being properly billed, and that I owed all of the figures expressed in the billing statement. My attempt to correct this matter with the customer service representative was unsuccessful. I then sent a letter via certified mail with a return receipt to the department that handles disputes such as these for Chase. I have proof that they did receive my letter due to it being certified mail. The letter addressed my concerns of the errors made that were not consistent with the credit card agreement, and the corrections that needed to be made. They never responded back to me in any way, and no corrections were ever made on my account. In April 2008 I received the next billing statement which had a balance in full owed of $431.45 which consisted of the balance owed for March 2008 of $445.19 minus my $100.00 check payment which equated to $345.19. Then in addition a 24.99% interest charge of $86.26 which brought the balance owed in full to $431.45. For the month of April 2008 I sent in a payment of $100.00 via check. For a second time I sent another letter to the appropriate address and department of Chase to dispute the billing on my account that was not consistent with the credit card agreement, and the terms and conditions specified on the rear of each billing statement via certified mail with return receipt. I have proof that they received the second letter as well. Even though I disagreed with Chaseas billing practices on this account I kept making payments because I wanted to pay off the debt, and not let them negatively impact my credit report. For a second time they never responded back to me, and no corrections were ever made on my account. I reviewed the language of the credit card agreement, and the terms and conditions specified on the rear of each billing statement several times to ensure that I didnat misinterpret the information. I discovered that I was correct all along. In May 2008 I received the next billing statement which had a balance in full owed of $414.28 which consisted of April 2008 balance in full owed of $431.45 minus the $100.00 check payment I had sent in for April 2008. Then in addition an interest charge of 24.99% of $82.83 which brought the balance owed in full to $414.28 for the month of May 2008. I sent in a payment of $100.00 via check for the month of May 2008. In June 2008 I received the billing statement, and it specified that the balance in full owed was $74.97. I thought it was quite strange that the balance from the previous month showed that I owed $414.28, and knowing that I had only paid $100.00 for the previous month which meant that there is a figure of nearly $300.00 in question on my account. I called the customer service group for Chase, they reviewed my account, and stated that the balance owed of $74.97 is correct. I rebuddled back stating that the previous monthas billing statement stated that I owed $414.28, and that I made a $100.00 payment for that previous month. She stated that she didnat know why that billing statement stated that I owed $414.28 for the previous month. I sent in a payment of $74.97 via check for the month of June 2008 to pay the balance off
in full. At that I point I had forgotten about the matter, and did not receive any billing statements for the months of July 2008, and August 2008. However, the $74.97 check payment I had sent in for June 2008 never cleared the bank, and apparently was never applied to my account. In September 2008 I received several bill collector telephone calls in regards to collecting a $234.97 balance owed for Chase Credit Card Services. In September 2008 I also received a new billing statement which show a total balance of $234.97 owed. I knew something was very wrong with this matter. The $234.97 balance consists of the $74.97 originating from June 2008, and late fees each for not receiving the $74.97 payment in June, July, and August of 2008. I contacted the customer service group and explained the matter, the customer service agent applied a credit reversal to my account for the $74.97 check payment I had originally sent in for the billing statement of June 2008 in June 2008.
The credit reversal consists of an artificial credit being temporarily applied to the account for a payment sent in that was not originally applied to the account until a new payment for the same amount is sent in and applied to the account. In September 2008 I sent in another payment via check of $74.97 as per instructed by the customer service agent. On this check payment I explicitly wrote account balance paid in full Accord and Satisfaction. In October 2008 I received a new billing statement which showed I owed a balance of $143.93 for penalties, and interest. The statement for October 2008 showed that the $74.97 check payment was applied to my account for September 2008. However, there was still $143.93 owed on the account for penalties, and interest. I sent another letter via certified mail to dispute this matter to the appropriate department, and address in October 2008. I have proof that this letter was received. In the letter I specified that I consider my account paid in full
explained all of the phenomena that occurred in regards to my account, requested that they undue any negative adjustments or applications made to my credit report originating from this account, and commanded that they never contact me ever again. In November 2008 I received another billing statement showing that owe $183.12 for penalties, and interest on the account. I disregarded the statement because they never contacted me back to address the letter I had sent them to dispute the billing on my account. Now, in December 2008 I have received noticed from them via a letter that any further charging privileges on my account have been revoked for any reasons such as returned payments, payment history, account delinquency, and total debt owed. The letter also specified that this decision was based in whole or in part from information received from the credit reporting agency known as Experian. The letter also specified that I owe all applicable fees, and finance charges
Keep in mind that all charges on the account originate from December 2007 and total $300.00. I have paid $474.97 for this $300.00 charge to the account from December 2007. Three days ago I received a copy of my credit report and discovered that my credit report, and score has been tarnished from all of this phenomenon that occurred from Chase Credit Card Services. What can I do to remedy this matter? In your opinion what should I do? I have sent them correspondence letters in regards to my account on different occasions, and no action or response was taken from them whatsoever. I did in fact pay the balance on my account. I feel as though the account delinquency was artificially orchestrated from them so that they can collect more interest and penalties.

No, this is not a joke!

I want to know who and where would I address a letter to if I had complaints about my Chase Credit Card and needed to reach some one other than the customer service reps. Thanks.

Specifically, I'm asking about Chase.

They recently increased the minimum payment percentage from 2% to 5%. To keep a reasonable minimum payment, cardmembers have to accept a higher APR and a lower term than Chase originally agreed to.

We had an offer of 5.99% for the balance of the loan that was available through 11/27/08. By 11/28/08 Chase was forcing their cardholders into a 7.99%, 24 month term loan...either that or more than double the monthly payment with a monthly service charge added.

Within the terms of the fine print I'm sure what they've done is "legal", but it isn't right. (In fact, it seems like a clear cut case of "bait and switch" to us.....)

I'm just curious - has anyone else experienced a change in terms with their credit card company because of the volatile market, and have you successfully negotiated with them to maintain the terms of their original agreement?

If so - HOW?
OC1999 - Chase did not recognize a "right to opt-out" - hence the crux of our complaint. I appreciate your advice, and it is sound advice. Unfortunately Chase doesn't adhere to such "rights".
Aha! I did find out where to file consumer complaints:

www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov

There is a link on this same page to complaint forms filed by military personnel. But to anyone who believes that their creditor is in violation of FDIC policies (as Chase was when they failed to give us the right to opt out and maintain current terms), then here is the place to go for help.

this is in relation to a question I asked yesterday... Anyway I need to know if that will mess up my credit at all. I have a $1600 balance right now with 18.99%APR which really sucks... So its a Chase card, and basically what they do is if you have some sort of life changing experience or whatever (I was out of work for weeks because of a bad car accident), they can take off finance charges for 3-6 months. I think the service is only around 99 cents a month but I'm not 100%. I used it once before when I moved. Is this what brought my APR up in the first place? Am I better off just paying whatever finance charges come my way?

hey guys... a few months ago i was checking my credit... and i noticed chase (my credit card) has files a late payment on my card for april. Now when i called up.. that month when i knew i was going to be late... because things got screwed up with my paycheck, i informed the Customer service rep that, and would it be ok if i made the payment in 2 weeks it wont get reported will it, i was informed no...

so i called up when i noticed it back in june, and spoke to someone, and they said that they would fix it, because the understand what happened...

Well i checked today, and bam... still not updated.. still that yellow mark in april...

so, i called back today and they said tehre was nothing they can do...

i filled a dispute with equifx... but i dont know what else to doo...

how bad does this affect my profile...

i have 2 credit cards...one from 2005 and one from 2006 all perfect payments except that one..

i have a car loan i got last year with all perfect payments

i want to buy a house but i dont want this to kill my score...

what are my options here?

I have a Circuit City Store card and I can no longer check my rewards or balance on the Circuit City Credit/Reward site.

It no longer recongize my seperate logins/passwords except for the one use for chase. So instead of the reg. site it goes straight to chase which does not keep my store credit card credit and reward on file.

Anyone else has this problem? I just want to see my store card balance and reward history. That's all. Their stupid site doesn't work with their dumb update.

Chase Customer Service is a aggravating, they tell me to contact Circuit City and they in return said to talk to Chase.

I have a card with Chase and have been paying off the balance regularly through my bank's automatic payment service. However, since earlier this year, Chase has been changing the due date back and forth therefore rendering my monthly payment late. Of course they then charged me late fees. I was on the phone with them for many hours trying to get them to take off the charges since I indeed have been sending payments on the same date every month to them. But you know that would never happen. I am just wondering if this is not some kind of grab money scheme the play to get us even more in debt.

I want to open a personal checking and savings account...Which one of all the popular banks out there is the best one for this? and why?
Bank of America? WaMu? Citibank? Suntrust? Wachovia? Chase?
Help please! I don't want to screw this up!
Please share good or bad experiences with costumer service (if you want).
Best credit cards? Best savings plan? Most amount of locations? Benefits? Best online banking website? e.t.c
Thank you in advance!

I have had a Discover card for 7 years and still enjoy using it. It is the only credit card I use. They offer 24 hour telephone customer service with agents here in the United States that speak clear english. Many other companies like Chase and Citicards have their call centeres in India and don't have 24 hour customer service.

The major problem I'm having is that fewer and fewer merchants take Discover Card. Many restuaratns don't accept it. Even national chains like Jamba Juice, The Coffee Bean/Tealeaf and Il Fornaio don't take Discover. Rather than have two credit card bills per month I would rather pay cash than use my Chase Visa card. Three out of 4 times I end up paying cash for my meals out becuase they don't take discover. Two local movie theater chains near me AMC and Pacific only take Visa,Mastercard and AMEX.

When buying a ticket online with Virgin America they don't take Discover. I ended up flying Southwest Airlines instead bacause they take Discover and I don't want to use my Cahse Visa card.

Will Discover go out of bussiness or disapear beacuse of their small market share. Many people act as if Discover Card does not exist.

The reason I applied for one in 2001 is because Visa and Mastercard turned me down numberous times and Discover is the only company that approved me.
My bank ATM card is not a debit card. My ATM card does not have a Visa or Mastercard logo on it. My little independant bank does not offer debit cards. Only ATM cards to withdraw money.
